DraftKings NBA Point Guards:

Best Bets:

Trae Young ($10,500): Young played through the illness on Wednesday, so he should be fine tonight. I think Luka’s thumb will be fine as well, but I make it a point not to use guys against Miami. This is a much more favorable matchup for Young tonight. He has 127.75 DraftKings points in the two games against Brooklyn so far. Kyrie only played in one of those, but I honestly don’t think it really matters. If Young plays, lock him in.

D’Angelo Russell ($8,800): Maybe D-Russ has finally found a home. He has been outstanding with Towns out, only falling below 45 DraftKings points once and he was still at 42.75. Russell racked up 53.5 DraftKings points on the Magic in the first meeting and is still the go-to guy on his team with Towns out. He’s a poor man’s Trae tonight.

Honorable Mention:

Ricky Rubio ($7,100): Rubio is on one of those hot streaks again. It makes sense, right? Booker is struggling a bit and Oubre is out. Some of that offensive burden is going to fall to Rubio. This year he picks up that slack more often than dropping it. This is a good matchup against a Detroit team that gave away all their toys. And if Rubio can break 45 against the Clippers, we can probably use him against anyone right now.

Markelle Fultz ($5,900): I don’t use Fultz much anymore since he has cooled off, but I’ll make exceptions against the Timberwolves. Russell has made them more exciting to watch, but they still aren’t any better defensively. Fultz often gets lost in the shuffle with many good pieces in Orlando, but he does a lot more than score. That keeps his floor pretty high if he ever is to get back to taking double-digit shots per game.

Dark Horses:

Jordan Clarkson ($5,200): Utah has lessened Clarkson’s run because of Mitchell’s hot streak. I’m not saying that Mitchell doesn’t remain hot tonight. I just think that Clarkson sees ample opportunity against what is likely the worst defense in the league. There is also blowout potential here, so Clarkson should be closer to 30 minutes than he has been over the last week or so.

Cory Joseph ($3,500): Fox’s absence helps the scorers more than Joseph, but his role as facilitator at this low of a price is impossible to ignore. Joseph is a strong bet for double-digit assists, which gets him to value even if he doesn’t score. Joseph is too cheap at this price when he starts.
