3. Mike Daniels, Defensive End

Injuries have had a significant impact on the last few years of Mike Daniels’ career. It’s the reason he was let go by the Green Bay Packers and spent last year with the Detroit Lions. Daniels isn’t someone who can be counted on as an every-down player anymore, but he still has something to offer.

Last season, he showed flashes of his former self tallying one sack and two tackles for loss. The Rams could use Daniels as a rotational player helping them overcome the potential loss of Michael Brockers.

Daniels would work well rotating with Morgan Fox who showed some promise last year. This move wouldn’t come at a high cost but could provide a high reward. A healthy Daniels who sees his workload managed could be very effective.

He’ll also have the privilege of working on the same defensive line as Aaron Donald. The attention Donald demands creates favorable matchups for the rest of the unit. Daniels would see more one-on-on blocking than ever before.

Now the need to sign Daniels would disappear if the Rams are able to bring back Brockers. As I mentioned earlier, this is a team with limited cap space so they can’t afford both players.
