2020 NFL Draft: Dallas Cowboys 7-round mock
By Conor Dorney
Fifth round
Wonnum looks the part as an edge rusher (6-foot-5, 258 pounds, 34 1/8″ arm length) and flourished during his senior season with the Gamecocks in 2019. A team captain since his sophomore season, Wonnum posted 9.5 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks and an interception in his final campaign with South Carolina.
You can never have enough pass rushers and there are Wonnum flashes enough on tape to warrant a Day 3 selection for a Cowboys team looking to overhaul their defense next season.
*projected compensatory selection for departure of Cole Beasley*
This draft is too good to not come away with at least one wide receiver and in the Cowboys’ case, injury concerns for former Florida star Van Jefferson could cause him to fall into their laps on Day 3.
After a Combine medical report revealed a foot fracture, the ex-Gator will need surgery and a potential 6-to-8 week recovery time. Though he’s expected to be healthy well ahead of his first NFL training camp, medical red flags at this stage of the draft process can sometimes cause players to experience surprising falls down the board.
Jefferson is a silky smooth route runner who could make an instant impact barring the free agent status of Amari Cooper.

Jason Witten can’t avoid the broadcast booth forever (but please dear god do, maybe take up gardening instead or something?). That means the Cowboys could take a Day 3 flyer on a tight end and in this case, Stanford’s Colby Parkinson fits the bill.
A matchup nightmare at 6-foot-7 and 252 pounds, he won’t offer you much as an in-line blocker but possesses plenty of upside as a pass-catcher. Mike McCarthy could see a similar type of usage for Parkinson as he did when he brought in Jimmy Graham in Green Bay.
