The 2020 NFL Scouting Combine is in the books, and while the top two picks did not participate in on-field drills, the rest of the first round had their chance to shine.

The Combine is in the books, and there were certainly a bunch of players who dominated in front of the entire world over the past few days. While Joe Burrow and Chase Young sat out the on-field festivities, they did handle the interview process, and will now look to their Pro Day to put the final touches on their draft season.

No big surprise here, as LSU quarterback Joe Burrow did nothing to hurt his chances of being the No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. Burrow will throw at his Pro Day, following a script, and after looking so good during his final season with the Tigers, you can almost write his name on the card right now.

The Cincinnati Bengals are likely going to franchise tag wide receiver A.J. Green, so at least Burrow will have a legitimate WR1 to start his NFL career. For the Bengals, they have to stack talent around this kid if they are going to make him the top pick, and they currently need help up and down their roster.

Head coach Zac Taylor was in his first season on the job during the 2019 campaign, and he had his Bengals playing hard week in and week out. They still have to figure out what they are going to do with Andy Dalton, but if the do go ahead and draft Burrow, it would signal a brand new era of Bengals football.

The Washington Redskins need a cornerstone player on their defense, and they get on in the person of Chase Young from Ohio State. While Young did not participate during on-field workouts, he did speak to the media, and based on his tape from last season, he really does not have anything to prove heading into the draft.

For the Redskins, this has been an interesting offseason already, as they got rid of cornerback Josh Norman, and brought in a new head coach in Ron Rivera. One of the better defensive minds in the NFL, Rivera should be able to get this franchise on the right track, and adding a player like Young instantly makes them better in the pass rush.

Of course, there is noise that the team is going to take a long look at the quarterbacks, though they did just draft one in the first round last year. Dwayne Haskins not being Rivera’s guy will have ripple effects throughout this draft, and if they do decide to roll the dice on a quarterback, they would be taking a page out of the Arizona Cardinals’ playbook last year.
