DraftKings NBA picks March 5: Return of the Steph
By Mike Marteny
DraftKings NBA centers:
Best Bets:
Nikola Jokic ($9,500): Jokic had a pedestrian stat line in the first meeting with the Hornets. Sometimes against lesser teams he gets bored and doesn’t do much. It’s understandable. It also sucks for us DFS players. This is a great matchup and one that Jokic should dominate. I’ll run him once just in case, but the massive blowout potential will keep me from anchoring many lineups with him.
Honorable Mention:
Al Horford ($7,000): Finally Horford gets a good matchup with Embiid out. This is probably the easiest one he’s had so far. Horford has been putting up solid numbers anyway, but this could be a place where he’s more than solid. I like Horford quite a bit here. Just because Philly sucks on the road doesn’t mean Horford does. His home/road splits are very close.
Serge Ibaka ($6,000): My gut feeling is that Serge returns tonight. If he does and Gasol is still out, this is a really good spot for him. If the Raptors announce that he is on a minutes limit or both he and Gasol play, I think we can probably do better. There’s a lot of if/then with the Raptors today. Don’t lock yourself into anything until the lineups come out.
Dark Horses:
Bismack Biyombo ($4,100): Neither center for Charlotte matches up well with Jokic, but I’m hoping the Hornets elect to go with the size of Biyombo. If he doesn’t start, I don’t think we can trust that he’ll see enough minutes. If Zeller starts, I’m not using either of them.
