NBA DFS: Studs, scrubs, and duds for March 8
Top star players, best value picks, and guys you should stay away from on March 8 in NBA DFS on DraftKings and FanDuel.
Welcome to Studs, Scrubs, and Duds; FanSided’s NBA DFS lineup helper.
Here’s what’s on the slate for tonight:
7 p.m. ET: Indiana at Dallas, Orlando at Houston, Miami at Washington
7:30 p.m. ET: San Antonio at Cleveland, Detroit at New York
9 p.m. ET: Toronto at Sacramento
How this works:
Studs: Top high salary picks that you can build your lineup around.
Scrubs: Value players looking for a big night or consistent options to help fill out your lineup.
Duds: Players to avoid given their high salary and/or poor matchup.
Five players are picked on each slide, positions are not applicable, and both DraftKings and FanDuel salaries are listed.
Studs
Russell Westbrook (vs ORL – $10,000 on DK; $10,700 on FD): Westbrook will be back in the lineup and that’s good news for the Rockets, who don’t seem to play well without him. He continues to offer better value than Harden and if you’re looking for one Rocket to build around, he’s your guy.
Nikola Vucevic (at HOU – $8,900 on DK; $8,400 on FD): It’s a back to back for the Rockets and Vucevic is a guy who can take advantage of their small ball because the Magic run a fair amount of their offense through him. He’s an easy double double and should get you plenty of points as well.
Bam Adebayo (at WAS – $8,000 on DK; $8,100 on FD): Adebayo has been just fine in recent outings and you certainly need more from him to justifying the salary. This is certainly a matchup where he can do more because the Wizards are not a good team and Adebayo should be back on his triple double threat. Expect him to show his ceiling in this one.
DeMar DeRozan (at CLE – $7,300 on DK; $7,800 on FD): Aldridge is out which means DeRozan will get the bulk of the offense for the Spurs. It’s an easy matchup for them since the Cavaliers aren’t good and they are on a back to back. DeRozan should rack up plenty of points in this one and chip in with assists as well.
Kyle Lowry (at SAC – $8,600 on DK; $7,600 on FD): Lowry is typically consistent and there’s no reason to doubt him at this salary against an easy matchup against the Kings, who are on a back to back. Lowry will do a bit of everything and while there are plenty of strong options on the Raptors, the Kings are weak against the position and Lowry is guaranteed value with a high ceiling.
