20. Ohio State Buckeyes (21-10)

I could see Ohio State saying in the same spot or moving down one this week after beating a ranked Illinois team in Columbus and then losing on the road against No. 16 Michigan State. The Buckeyes are playing well right now and it’d be tough to name 20 teams better than them.

19. Auburn Tigers (25-6)

The up-and-down conference season has continued for Auburn as the Tigers as they lost to Texas A&M at home which could affect their overall seeding in the NCAA Tournament, but they finished the year with a win over Tennessee. Auburn is just one of two SEC teams to finish the regular season with under 10 losses.

18. Wisconsin Badgers (21-10)

I’ll be the first to admit that I didn’t think we’d be talking about Wisconsin as a ranked team to close the regular season and also a Big Ten champion. The Badgers got hot to end the year and beat Northwestern and Indiana in Bloomington to capture a share of the Big Ten crown and the No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament.

17. Seton Hall Pirates (21-9)

Two losses to close the season isn’t something you ever want to see your team suffer, but the Pirates likely dropped out of top-10 or even top-15 consideration heading into conference tournament week with losses to Villanova and Creighton to choke away an outright Big East title.

16. Virginia Cavaliers (23-7)

The reigning national champs are rising quickly this week after beating Miami on the road in a nail-biter — as well as low-scoring affair — and then heading back home to down No. 10 Louisville. The Cavaliers should see a mammoth bump this week.
