15. WR Emmanuel Sanders

Sanders made a remarkably quick recovery from a torn Achilles’ in 2018, and he became the rare player to play 17 games last season after a trade from the Denver Broncos to the San Francisco 49ers. His numbers were solid (66 receptions for 869 yards and five touchdowns).

Sanders will turn 33 on March 17, the day before free-agent signings can be made official. Talk of his imminent demise in the wake of that Achilles’ tear was unfounded, and Sanders addressed his doubters via Twitter.

Sanders is sure to be sought after on the open market, and the 49ers don’t currently have a lot of cap space. So he is almost sure to land elsewhere, with the Green Bay Packers, New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles as prominent suitors.

If there were a dictionary definition of a No. 2 wide receiver, which is fully intended as a compliment, Sanders might be it. There’s downside risk that can’t be ignored, but the length and money in Sanders’ free agent deal is sure to be noteworthy.
