22. QB Teddy Bridgewater

After a career-derailing knee injury late in the  2016 preseason with the Minnesota Vikings, Bridgewater saw his first meaningful action when Drew Brees was injured last year. He went 5-0 as the starter for the Saints, and showed progressive improvement.

Over his final three starts he averaged over 278 passing yards per game (topping 280 twice), with seven touchdowns, one interception and a 108.7 passer rating. He also averaged 7.7 yards per attempt over that span (8.6 adjusted yards per attempt).

Bridgewater will almost surely be somewhere other than New Orleans next season, perhaps as someone’s clear-cut starter. The list of possible suitors is long. The pre-injury version of him was rightly lauded for performance in crucial situations and intangibles going beyond mediocre surface numbers, leaving aside a lack of overwhelming physical tools.

Bridgewater is one of the most interesting pieces of the upcoming quarterback carousel. Where he lands will largely be determined by where others go, or don’t go in some cases, and where that leaves a chunk of teams who are in search of a quarterback. He is still only 27 years old, with plenty of time to establish himself as a long-term answer under center somewhere.
