Indianapolis Colts: CB Brian Poole (New York Jets)

A playoff club in 2018, Frank Reich’s team actually got off to a 5-2 start this past season. But things slowly came apart both in terms at the offense and a defensive unit that was thought to be on the rise. The end result was a disappointing 7-9 showing and a third-place finish in the AFC South.

Quarterback Jacoby Brissett – pressed into starting duty for the team for the second time in three years – never looked the same after injuring his knee in early November at Pittsburgh. And his second-half performance has been one reason many have tried to connect the dots in terms of the Indianapolis Colts looking to make a change at quarterback. Meanwhile, Reich’s club finished 23rd in the league in pass defense and allowed 29 scores through the air.

General manager Chris Ballard has worked the draft to perfection the past two years. But could the franchise invest in a young cornerback such as Brian Poole? The one-time member of the Atlanta Falcons made a career-best 10 starts for the Jets in ‘19, finishing with 58 tackles, one interception and five passes defensed. And he was the ninth-best cornerback in the league this past season according to Pro Football Focus (subscription required).
