Los Angeles Rams: LB Kyle Van Noy (New England Patriots)

Off a Super Bowl appearance the previous season and winners of their first three games, the 2019 Los Angeles Rams appeared headed towards another postseason appearance under head coach Sean McVay. But this was a team with issues from the get-go despite the solid start and those warts caught up quickly with the defending NFC champions.

The Rams’ 3-0 mark was followed by three consecutive setbacks and all told, a 6-7 record in their final 13 contests. A club that swept through the NFC West in ‘18 managed just a 3-3 ledger vs. their divisional rivals. And despite a third consecutive winning campaign under McVay, a 9-7 finish wasn’t good enough to sneak back into the playoffs.

While mistake-prone quarterback Jared Goff had a rough year and running back Todd Gurley just wasn’t his former Pro Bowl self, it was the Los Angeles’ defense

McVay has a new defensive coordinator in Brandon Staley. And adding a versatile defender such as Kyle Van Noy would be a step in the right direction. The former second-round pick of the Lions blossomed after being dealt to the Patriots midway through the 2016 season. He comes off a year in which he totaled a career-best 6.5 sacks, to go along with three forced fumbles and a pair of fumble recoveries.
