Atlanta Falcons: DE Robert Quinn (Dallas Cowboys)

In five seasons under head coach Dan Quinn, the Atlanta Falcons have been to the playoffs twice and made one Super Bowl appearance. The team owns a combined 43-37 regular-season record but is also coming off consecutive 7-9 campaigns. Known for his defensive prowess, Quinn’s units have had their ups and downs during his tenure with the team. And the one aspect of this club that is eluded the Falcons for far too long is a consistent pass rush. In 2019, the club managed a mediocre 28 sacks.

For a spell, it looked like Vic Beasley may be the answer. After a less-than-inspiring rookie showing, the eighth overall pick in the 2015 draft led the league with 15.5 sacks and also came up with a half-dozen forced fumbles (tied for the most in the NFL). But over the next three seasons, there would be a combined 18 quarterback traps. He is scheduled to be an unrestricted free agent on March 18 and won’t be returning to Atlanta.

Last offseason, the Dallas Cowboys swung a deal with the Miami Dolphins to obtain Robert Quinn. He rewarded his newest employer with a team-high 11.5 sacks but it set to hit the open market. The nine-year veteran could be one new piece for a defense who is now under the guidance of Raheem Morris.
