Minnesota Vikings: G Ronald Leary (Denver Broncos)

The Minnesota Vikings entered the 2019 playoffs with losses in their final two regular-season contests (although they did rest some starters in Week 17 vs. the Bears). Regardless, Mike Zimmer’s club showed its mettle in the wild card round by upsetting the New Orleans Saints, 26-20 in overtime, at the Superdome.

But go back to that Week 16 Monday night home loss to the Green Bay Packers, as well as the club’s 27-10 setback to the San Francisco 49ers in the divisional round. You’ll find that Minnesota’s offensive line, which played much better football in 2019 than it did the previous season, was truly an up-and-down unit. The group had its issues against Green Bay’s defense and was simply mismatched against the Super Bowl-bound Niners.

Still, it’s a group with some young and promising performers added via the draft in recent years. So perhaps another experienced performer such as one-time Dallas Cowboys’ standout and current Broncos’ guard Ronald Leary could be a plus for a team that was much more reliant on Kirk Cousins, Dalvin Cook and the offense in ’19 more than its defense. The eight-year pro has spent the past three seasons in Denver and was a 12-game starter this past year.
