DraftKings NBA picks March 11: Pay up for centers
By Mike Marteny
DraftKings NBA Power Forwards:
Best Bets:
John Collins ($9,100): I don’t know how much the Hawks will run Collins here. There’s a chance he wont play at all if his ankle flares up. Collins destroyed the Knicks in the first meeting, racking up 60.5 DraftKings points in a crazy 49 minutes. He’s not going to play that here. He may not even play half that. I like Collins a lot, but I’m worried about a blowout here.
Tobias Harris ($8,500): Harris dominated Detroit in the first two meetings, racking up 98 DraftKings points in the two games. We really don’t know what we’re going to get from Harris. I like this less if Embiid returns. Actually, if Embiid is back, I’m off of this. The price is too high to take a risk on Harris. If he’s the only star standing again though, this is as good a place as any to take a shot.
Honorable Mention:
Julius Randle ($7,800): Randle fouled out last night in just 26 minutes, so he should be well rested for tonight. It also gives him a chance to destroy my lineup again because I love Randle here. He has 99.25 DraftKings points in the first two games against the Hawks despite playing only 69 minutes. This is another great spot for Randle, but I’m skittish after last night seeing the Knicks rotations.
Paul Millsap ($5,100): Ugh….the first game I was off of Millsap in a while turned out to be an explosion against the Bucks. Millsap put up 35 DraftKings points on Dallas in the first meeting. There is certainly potential for him to do it again. I’ll run Millsap a couple of times, but a crowded Denver offense and inconsistent rotations hurt his value.
Dark Horses:
Mike Scott ($4,800): Scott is an interesting play since I think he starts regardless of Embiid’s status. The Sixers were bringing Horford off the bench before Embiid went down anyway. Scott’s strong play with everyone out should afford him good minutes no matter what. He’s a risk if Embiid plays. He’s a lock if Embiid is out.
Jerami Grant ($4,600): Grant went nuts on Milwaukee’s bench as well, but he played eight more minutes than Millsap. That has been the trend for most of the games lately. Grant plays about ten minutes more than Millsap. That gives him a much better floor, but Millsap still has better upside.
