2. Dallas Cowboys

In their focus to keep Dak Prescott and Amari Cooper around long-term, the Cowboys have pretty clearly put signing Byron Jones to the kind of contract he’ll command on the back burner. Cap space is not necessarily an issue, with nearly $73.3 million available (sixth-most in the league, according to Over The Cap), but Dallas will have a void to fill when Jones inevitably signs with a new team.

Harris, of course, will come on a shorter deal with less annual average value than Jones. There’s an argument over which guy is ultimately the better player, depending on the metrics cited, and as Harris crosses deeper into his 30’s a decline may come fast.

But Jerry Jones surely wants to win another Super Bowl soon, and may push some unexpected chips to the middle of the table (Tom Brady?). Worry over what kind of player Harris will be in 2-3 years may simply not exist in Dallas, and it will be an appealing destination for him.
