4. Jerry Jeudy

Terry McLaurin exceeded almost everyone’s expectations as a rookie wide receiver. That doesn’t mean Washington’s receiving corps is set for the next decade. Adding another top-flight pass catcher could catapult the group from good to elite.

The Redskins won’t entertain the idea of selecting Jeudy with the No. 2 overall pick, but he could be a very attractive choice if they are willing to trade down. Flipping the second pick in exchange for a mid-first round selection plus another premium choice could make a lot of sense for Washington.

Jeudy is the perfect complement to a speed merchant like McLaurin. It’s not that the former Alabama standout isn’t fast, it’s just that he is also an excellent route runner who can wreak havoc in the middle of the field. McLaurin can take the top off a defense while Jeudy can turn that space into big plays on a regular basis.

In many ways, acquiring Jeudy would also give the team the weapons they need to properly evaluate Haskins’ future. If he can’t succeed with McLaurin and Jeudy to throw to then he isn’t worth trusting as a starting quarterback. Don’t rule out the idea of Washington trying to add another talented wideout early in this year’s draft.
