1. Chase Young

Quarterbacks dominate the NFL Draft, but edge rushers also have a habit of shaking things up when the festivities get started. Young is a player who will cause a lot of teams to salivate as the draft approaches.

His rare combination of talent and production would make him the consensus No. 1 overall selection in a lot of drafts. Only Burrow’s brilliant senior season is keeping him out of that conversation this year.

It’s easy to project how Young might turn out to be the better player. Turn on his tape from the 2019 season and you see a defensive lineman who succeeds against double teams over and over again. Any time he drew a single blocker in college he found a way to make a big play.

Line Young up on one side of the formation opposite Montez Sweat and suddenly Rivera has the foundation of a really good pass rush for years to come. Remember that Rivera is a defensive coach at heart. He’ll want to build his corps in Washington with a ferocious defensive front.

Redskins fans might get bored with the idea of Young before the draft arrives, but anytime that happens they should just cut on his college tape and smile. If he ends up in Washington he’s got a great chance to become a perennial Pro Bowler for the next decade.
