3. Jedrick Wills

Right tackles aren’t as valuable as left tackles in the draft, but that won’t stop Wills from being a top 10 pick. The Chargers could easily be the team that slots him right into their starting lineup on Week 1 of the 2020 campaign.

Wills isn’t a sexy prospect, but it’s hard to project him as anything worse than an above-average starter. That would represent solid, but not spectacular value at the No. 6 spot in the draft.

He grades out well in every aspect of his offensive line play. He’s got good size and speed for his position. Perhaps more importantly, he’ll enter the NFL with really good technique. Wills isn’t going to blow anyone away with his athleticism, but he will be an effective player early in his professional career.

Drafting Wills would allow the Chargers to secure an immediate upgrade over Sam Tevi. The challenge with making this choice would be passing on the idea of acquiring a quarterback of the future. Only look for Los Angeles to go with Wills if they’ve already signed a quality starting signal-caller in free agency.
