6. Duke vs. Kentucky – Sweet 16

It’s time for more complaining from Coach Cal as Kentucky appears on the list again, this time for a matchup against Duke in the Sweet 16. There may not be a more epic rivalry in NCAA Tournament history than the one Duke and Kentucky had with its most memorable moment being Christian Laettner‘s buzzer-beater to top the Wildcats in the Elite Eight in 1992.

It has also been a minute since these two teams met, with Duke topping Kentucky 118-84 at Madison Square Garden in November of 2018. That contest was Zion Williamson‘s coming out party and you know Kentucky would have loved to exact a measure of revenge for that beat down.

5. Kentucky vs. Kansas – Elite Eight

The gauntlet continues for Kentucky here as they would have to square off with the nation’s top team for a trip to the Final Four. Kansas has been atop the polls since knocking off Baylor in late February, and this year was poised to be Kansas’ year.

The Jayhawks do have more star power with Devon Dotson and Udoka Azubuike, but Kentucky could throw a deep rotation at the Kansas attack. Watching John Calipari and Bill Self square off in a chess match on the sidelines would also have been worth the price of admission but it was not meant to be this year.
