Washington Redskins

1. James Bradberry
2. Austin Hooper
3. Kelvin Beachum

The Redskins are typically buyers in free agency and that should again be the case for Washington as they approach the market with nearly $62m in projected cap space.

Bradberry’s connection with former Panthers coach Ron Rivera makes him an obvious fit to join him in Washington and upgrade the pass defense.

Jordan Reed’s once-promising career in Washington is finally coming to an end. The Redskins require a tight end who can stay on the field and figure to be major players in the Hooper sweepstakes. Adding him to a group of pass-catchers not short on promise would do wonders for Dwayne Haskins, though it remains unclear whether Rivera will elect to stick with him under center.

What won’t do Haskins’ prospects of success any good is the likely trade of left tackle Trent Williams. Washington does not have a second-round pick and, with Chase Young the favorite to be their second overall selection, is set to miss out on the top tackle prospects.

Beachum is an obvious downgrade, but he will be less expensive than the likes of Jack Conklin and Bryan Bulaga and, at age 30, should still have plenty in the tank.
