2. Joe Thuney
3. Robert Quinn

The Jets’ decision to hand a lucrative contract to Trumaine Johnson back in 2018 was nothing short of a disaster. However, that should not deter them from making a push to acquire Jones’ services.

Jones’ athleticism and ability to operate at several spots in the secondary makes him a much more valuable commodity than Johnson. The thought of him linking up with safeties Jamal Adams and Marcus Maye is an extremely enticing one.

In previous years there had been a stigma attached to players Bill Belichick decided to let leave the Patriots. However, Trent Brown’s success will have helped lessen that and guard Thuney should be in for a large payday.

Desperate for interior line help, it would be no surprise to see the Jets try to keep Thuney in the division and ensure Sam Darnold is not seeing any ghosts in 2020.

Putting opposing quarterbacks under pressure at a more consistent rate is a must for the Jets next season and Quinn may come at a more reasonable cost than the likes of Ngakoue and Matthew Judon. Despite being in the league for eight years, Quinn does not turn 30 until May and proved he can still perform at the highest level with an 11.5-sack season in 2019.
