Trevon Diggs

The Jaguars are going to get a really good player at No. 9 if they focus on offensive line or defensive line. At No. 20 spot, things can go a number of different ways. We have seen some projections having the Jaguars take C.J. Henderson out of Florida, but that could be a pipe dream.

Jacksonville needs cornerback help after making a position of strength (Bouye and Ramsey as starters) into a weakness (Tre Herndon and D.J. Hayden). Trevon Diggs is a wonderful consolation prize. He was a five-star recruit coming out of high school and excelled at Alabama.

What makes Diggs the right pick is his ability to pick the ball out of the air. He was also a really good receiver once upon a time, so he still has those instincts.

Beyond that, he’s one of the best press corners in the country. He has a long wingspan, and stands at 6-foot-3. He doesn’t let wide receivers get off the ball. Yet, at the same time he doesn’t let them get past him when the press isn’t effective. He’s a really good corner, and the Jaguars would be thrilled if they ended getting him.
