3. K’Lavon Chaisson

Chaisson could be an interesting choice for the Cardinals if they are determined to grab an edge rusher with the No. 8 pick. That might be a slight reach based on pure value, but Chaisson’s upside makes it a justifiable choice for Arizona.

He’s not big enough to play defensive end full-time on a three-man line at this stage of his career. Instead, he’d work as a hybrid in his rookie year for the Cardinals. Chaisson could line up as a defensive end on passing situations and cycle back to the outside linebacker spot on other downs.

Chaisson might require a little patience to really pay off. He’s got excellent speed and quickness, but he absolutely has to add quality weight if he wants to thrive against NFL tackles. Whether or not he can add those pounds and maintain his athleticism will determine his ability to succeed at the next level.

Some team is going to roll the dice on Chaisson somewhere in the middle third of Round 1. He’s likely going to be the best edge rusher left on the board when the Cardinals go on the clock. He’ll at least be a tempting option for the team’s front office at No. 8.
