First Round

3. player. 812. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. EDGE. Ohio State. Chase Young

Because of everyone’s obsession with the quarterback, the best player in the NFL Draft is going to fall to the Detroit Lions, and even they wouldn’t be in the position to mess this up. We see the Miami Dolphins moving up to take Tua Tagovailoa and the Washington Redskins learned how well it can go for a team to trade out of the number-two overall pick. That leaves Chase Young for the Lions.

Young is one of the best edge rushers in recent memory, and he can completely change the Lions defense immediately. He’s one of the rare defensive players that can actually change who wins and loses a game. When a player is being compared to Lawrence Taylor, one of the best players in the history of this league, it’s a no brainer. If the Lions get him at three, there’s a cause for celebration.

Young is going to be one of the best edge rushers in the game. They are adding the best prospect at their biggest position of need thanks to two teams going after the most important position in sports.
