Second Round

A.J. Terrell. 35. player. . CB. Clemson. 879. Pick Analysis

Even with the addition of Desmond Trufant, the Lions could still use a cornerback. A.J. Terrell would be a great option in the second round. He’s not the best at forcing turnovers, but he’s a very good cornerback when it comes to just about everything else. He has the athleticism to recover, he can play just about every position in the secondary.

He’s really good at pressing at the line of scrimmage. This is one of the most important jobs of today’s cornerback. Terrell can throw a receiver off before he even gets his first step. With so many penalties going against the secondary, they have to get as much as they can in those first five legal yards.

He’s also one to always stay in position. Terrell can keep a receiver honest, something the Lions had a lot of trouble with last season. There’s not this much skill on the defense for the Lions, and if they can get Terrell on top of Young, it could completely change the face of this defense in the blink of an eye.

The Lions need players who can start right away. Terrell could very easily slot in next to Trufant. This team needs contributors, and they’d get one who could be a really good starter in the former Clemson Tiger.
