4. Terrell Lewis, Alabama Edge

Lewis is one of quite a few Alabama players that should come off the board in the second half of Round 1. He’s not the biggest name the Crimson Tide has to offer this year, but he could be a perfect fit for the Eagles.

Lewis is your classic ‘tweener prospect who will toggle back and forth between outside linebacker and defensive end depending on the situation. His strength is definitely using his speed to rush the passer from the edge. The Eagles would benefit greatly from adding an outside linebacker with that skill set.

The problem with Lewis is that he might be too light to ever really be an effective run defender. It’s not that he’ll be a liability in that phase of the game, but he’s not going to dominate at the point of attack. Some teams won’t place enough value on his specialty to make him a first round draft pick.

The Eagles are smart enough to understand just how valuable a pass-rushing outside linebacker can be. Lewis may not be a starter next year, but he can provide serious value on obvious passing downs. He likely represents a fallback option for Philadelphia if they stay at No. 21.
