This Monday, DraftKings presents the DFS community with a one match AL Showdown slate! Let’s take a look at this one match slate that features the Newcastle Jets versus the Melbourne City FC from a fantasy perspective!

Here are my DraftKings player selections for this one match Australian A League showdown slate!

Captain Jamie Maclaren-Melbourne City FC $11,700

Melbourne City will arrive at Monday’s contest versus the Newcastle Jets looking to extend the team’s undefeated streak, which currently sits at four matches in a row. One of the big reasons that Melbourne City has been playing at such a high level is forward Jamie Maclaren. In his last two matches played, Maclaren has four goals and seven assists! Additionally, in the two match span just mentioned, Jamie Maclaren is averaging a whopping 33.45 DraftKings points a game!

I also like the fact that Melbourne City is currently averaging 5.64 shots on goal a match this season. The team’s overall aggressive offensive play further emphasizes why I like Jamie Maclaren as my captain.

I also like the fact that Maclaren has previously illustrated that he can excel offensively versus this week’s opponent. Maclaren scored a goal in Melbourne City’s 2-0 win over Newcastle in January of this year.

It should also be noted that Maclaren arrives on this one match showdown slate as the sixth most expensive player. In my opinion, Maclaren is an outstanding value at a DraftKings captain price of $11,700.

Flex Plays

Dimitrios Petratos-Newcastle Jets $11,000

Petratos has been an extremely consistent DFS/Draftkings performer this season. More specifically, in his last seven matches played, Dimitrios Petratos is averaging an impressive 23.24 Draftkings points a match.

Roy O’Donovan-Newcastle Jets $9,400

Newcastle forward Roy O’Donovan has been an offensive force lately! In his last four matches played, O’Donovan has three goals! I think O’Donovan will continue his outstanding play in this Monday’s match versus Melbourne City!

Markel Susaeta-Melbourne City FC $7,000

Melbourne City’s Markel Susaeta played outstanding in the team’s last match. Susaeta scored a goal and added an assist in the team’s 4-2 win over the Central Coast Mariners. It should be noted that Markel’s statistics in his last match translated into a whopping 27.5 Draftkings points!

Nikolai Topor-Stanley-Newcastle Jets $3,800

Topor-Stanley has been a member of the Newcastle Jets for the last six seasons. Although, his statistics never seem to pop off the page, he is a valuable member of this football team. Topor-Stanley has managed to score three goals this season. At the low Draftkings price of only $3,800, I am willing to take the risk on him in this one match slate!
