Round 4

player. Defensive End. Syracuse. Alton Robinson. 141. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 827

With all of the action in the first three rounds, Miami’s draft gets much less interesting starting in the fourth round – but not for lack of picks. The team has eight selections for the draft’s last four rounds, and they’ll take a combination of solid depth and huge upshots as they wade through these selections.

In the fourth round, that starts with the defensive line and the selection of Alton Robinson from Syracuse. Robinson has decent size at 6-foot-3 and 264 pounds, but his athletic traits are incredible for his size and position. At the combine, Robinson ran a sub 4.7 40-yard dash, had a 35.5 inch vertical and put up 25 reps on the bench press.

He may profile best as a pure pass rusher right now, but he has the natural ability and frame to be effective against the run as a defensive end, especially if he adds just a bit of weight to his frame. It would not be out of the question for Robinson to be a pass rush specialist for the Dolphins in year one before transitioning into a full-time role in 2021.

All told, he may be one of the most underrated pass rushers in the draft, and Miami will be ecstatic to take him here.
