Atlanta has two fourth-round picks this year. Though the Falcons have five picks in the first four rounds, they only have one pick in the last three, and that’s coming in the seventh round. With the No. 119 overall pick in the fourth round, Atlanta can draft Purdue Boilermakers tight end Brycen Hopkins.

After redshirting in 2015, Hopkins got better every season he was in West Lafayette. He ended up with 130 catches for 1,945 yards and 16 touchdown catches in his career. Hopkins is coming off a 61-catch season for 830 yards and seven touchdowns. At 6-foot-5 and 245 pounds, Hopkins can be a red-zone target Ryan can look to right away as a rookie in the NFL.

Atlanta will have to replace Desmond Trufant at cornerback this year. Though Isaiah Oliver stepped up in his second NFL season last year, the Falcons need depth in the secondary to challenge Damontae Kazee and Blidi Wreh-Wilson for playing time. They can get this by taking Notre Dame Fighting Irish cornerback Troy Pride Jr. with the No. 134 overall pick in the fourth round.

Pride is 5-foot-11 and 194 pounds. He played in a ton of big games in college for Brian Kelly, registering 121 total tackles, 18 pass breakups and four interceptions for 35 yards during his college career in South Bend. Atlanta could draft a cornerback higher, but do keep in mind Morris’ speciality as a defensive coordinator is coaching up defensive backs. So there’s clearly value here.
