Scouting Report. WR. Virginia. 888. Pick Analysis. Joe Reed. 115. player

For a team with a need at kick returner and added depth to the receiver room, Joe Reed makes a lot of sense.

At 6-foot and 224 pounds, one of Reed’s best traits is he’s not a prototypically small, light returner. Instead, he runs downhill with more power, employing his high school running back roots to truck would-be tacklers. He’s not as fast as some returners, but he still ran a 4.5 40-yard dash at the combine. Hemakes up for his average of speed with vision that rivals some of the best ball handlers in the draft.

The Browns are already loaded at the top of their receiver depth chart with Odell Beckham Jr. and Jarvis Landry, but Reed can join the offense in spread personnel groupings while primarily helping on special teams.

If Reed is the best player available on general manager Andrew Berry’s board, he should be the pick here.

The Browns don’t have a fifth-round pick this year.
