Something just feels right about projecting a tough, physical linebacker that played his college ball at Wisconsin to play professionally for the Bills. Selecting Baun would give Buffalo a nice infusion of talent at the outside linebacker position.

In fact, there’s a strong chance that he could knock either A.J. Klein or Matt Milano out of their starting spots early in his career. He’s the rare prospect who comes into the NFL ready to rush the passer and drop into coverage. The former is his superior skill out of the two.

At worst, Baun profiles as a guy who can come in and rush the passer on obvious passing downs right away. That gives him a real edge over anyone the Bills currently start at outside linebacker.

Baun would also give this defense another boost of toughness. That’s something McDermott clearly prioritizes. Adding Baun and Addison in the same offseason would really prepare this defense to take on the high-flying pass attacks they’ll need to overcome in the playoffs.
