Top Players

Yoeli Childs

An injury limited Yoeli Childs to just 19 games, but when he played the BYU star was by far their best player. Childs led the Cougars in scoring, averaging 22.2 points per game, and he added nine rebounds a night for good measure. BYU was 16-3 when Childs was on the floor, a clear sign of how valuable he was for the Cougars.

Jake Toolson

Another valuable senior for the Cougars was guard Jake Toolson. In his fifth year with the Cougars, Toolson proved to be deadly from beyond the arc, knocking down 47 percent of his three-point attempts while scoring 15.2 points per game. Toolson’s excellent marksmanship was a key factor in BYU’s tremendous perimeter attack.

T.J. Haws

BYU’s offense was largely dynamic due to the skilled presence of T.J. Haws at the point. Haws led the Cougars in assists and steals while holding his own offensively, scoring 14 points a night and shooting a solid 37 percent from beyond the arc. BYU didn’t ask Haws to handle most of the scoring load but was more than capable of shouldering it if asked.

Alex Barcello

The Arizona transfer thrived in his first season in Provo. Alex Barcello was another deadly three-point shooter, knocking down 48.6 percent of his attempts from beyond the arc as he played a complementary role on the offense. A slew of graduations this year should set up Barcello for a much bigger role next season.
