NBA Mock Draft 2.0: Tankathon sim gives Knicks No. 1 overall pick
By Zach Hood
The biggest question mark for Avdija regarding his ceiling is his efficiency from both the 3-point line and the free-throw stripe. If he doesn’t shoot, this probably turns out to be the wrong pick at No. 3. If he shoots as he has recently in Europe, he could be one of the better all-around 6-foot-9 playmakers in the NBA at his peak. With Edwards off the board, the Minnesota Timberwolves may look to Avdija to provide some scoring and creation at the forward spot.
Avdija is the kind of high-IQ basketball player that can help an entire offense click at a higher pace. He throws dart-like long-distance outlet passes and can push the ball off the glass when needed. While he has a ways to go in the half-court, the presence of Karl-Anthony Towns and D’Angelo Russell should help alleviate the pressure there initially.
