Second Round

Pick Analysis. player. 812. Scouting Report. RB. Ohio State Buckeyes. J.K. Dobbins. 45

The Buccaneers need to address the running back position either in free agency or the 2020 NFL Draft. While they could sign former Falcons running back Devonta Freeman as a free agent, they could get an absolute speedster with the No. 45 pick in the second round. They just need to draft J.K. Dobbins out of Ohio State and they’ll be fine.

Dobbins ran for over 2,000 yards as a junior in Columbus last season and went over 1,000 yards all three years he played for the Buckeyes. At 5-foot-10 and 217 pounds, Dobbins has the potential to be the next explosive weapon in the Tampa Bay offense. He even had 71 catches for 645 yards and five touchdowns out of the backfield in Ohio State.

In short, Brady is going to love having a player like Dobbins in the backfield. He’s a better version of what he had in New England in Sony Michel. Dobbins may not be the bell-cow Tampa Bay is looking for, but he can play great complementary football off another young running back the Buccaneers already have on the roster in Ronald Jones.

While Dobbins has an outside shot of going in the latter part of the first round, he’ll be maybe the third running back taken in the draft behind Georgia’s D’Andre Swift and Wisconsin’s Jonathan Taylor. If Dobbins is still on the board at No. 45, he has to be the pick for the Buccaneers. He can help make this offense unbelievably electrifying upon his arrival on the Florida Gulf Coast.
