Fourth Round

Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 113. G. Ohio State Buckeyes. Jonah Jackson. player. 812

One of the underrated losses for the Panthers has to be along the interior of their offensive line. Carolina traded five-time Pro Bowl guard Trai Turner to the Los Angeles Chargers, possibly to help them woo Tom Brady in the free-agency sweepstakes they inevitably lost. Well, Carolina now has to replace Turner and they can try their best to do that by drafting Jonah Jackson out of Ohio State.

Jackson is 6-foot-4 and 305 pounds. While he did play on the 2019 Big Ten Championship Buckeyes team, he initially got his start in college at Rutgers. Talk about quite the jump up the divisional hierarchy in the Big Ten East, going from arguably the worst program in the country to the best program north of the Mason-Dixon Line.

One of the best things the Panthers can do this offseason is to bolster their offensive line. It will give Bridgewater the best chance to succeed for as long as he’s the starter. Should that front-five develop throughout the year, that could be huge for a rookie quarterback to possibly emerge as the starter for the 2021 NFL season.

Taking Wirfs in the first round and Jackson in the fourth gives the Panthers two proven pieces to work with in the trenches this offseason. To get a big body in their on the offensive interior in Jackson, that could really help open up some more holes for Christian McCaffrey to sprint through to pay dirt to the joy of Panthers fans all over the Carolinas.
