There’s been a great deal of movement around the league this offseason. But there are still some big names available for NFL teams to add to their rosters.

It’s Day No. 10 for NFL free agents and the 2020 fiscal year for the league. And there’s been an abundance of activity all around the league. A week or so into the process and who’s winning the offseason is already being discussed.

But what about all those players out there still looking for a job? Are they in essence in their team’s plans and will be re-signed at a later date? That’s certainly the case for some of them. But there’s also some very prominent performers on the open market that could help a new employer. Hence a look at the best players still available in free agency.

5.  DE Everson Griffen

Roughly a week ago, the nine-year veteran said his goodbyes to the Vikings’ organization and the fan base (via Instagram). The 10-year veteran and four-time Pro Bowler will be looking for a new home this season. A former fourth-round pick from Southern Cal, Griffen has amassed 74.5 career sacks with the Purple Gang and should be able to contribute to a team looking for a veteran presence off the edge.

The 6-foot-3, 273-pound pro has started at least 10 games each of the past six seasons and logged double-digit quarterback traps three times over that span. Griffen could certainly help a team looking for a veteran presence and some additional pass rush. He finished 2019 with 41 tackles, eight sacks and one interception. The 32-year-old performer should be a welcome addition for a team featuring the 4-3 defense.
