These 5 teams should trade for Brandin Cooks before NFL Draft
Las Vegas Raiders
The Raiders could also use some more impact players this offseason. In 2019, they acquired two superstar wide receivers in Antonio Brown and Tyrell Williams, but only Williams remains as a top target.
Nelson Agholor and Jason Witten were the biggest signings made by Jon Gruden and Mike Mayock to the offense in the first wave of free agency, and it’s hard seeing either of those two players being standouts, especially after how much they struggled last season.
But Cooks would be an immediate star. He and Williams would be a devastating duo on the outside, burning defenses deep and making plays with the ball in their hands. Williams and Cooks are among the most exciting receivers in this league.
The Raiders have Darren Waller and Hunter Renfrow as consistent chain-movers, but they need a true No. 1 guy who can win at all levels of the field. Cooks’ route-running, hands, and feel for the intermediate regions of the field are underrated, and his game has matured to new heights since playing for the New England Patriots and Rams.
It’s unclear if Derek Carr or Marcus Mariota will start for the Raiders this season, but either quarterback would benefit from having Cooks. Mariota, in particular, would relish the opportunity to finally play with a true star wideout.
