Green Bay Packers

Although the Packers had a bounce-back performance in the 2019 regular season, they were dumped out of the conference championships by the San Francisco 49ers, who thoroughly outclassed Matt LaFleur’s side.

Green Bay’s defense is much-improved with a voracious edge rush and a talented young secondary, but the offense remains propped up by Aaron Rodgers, who only has Davante Adams and Aaron Jones to help.

Last season, Adams missed four games and was thus under 1,000 receiving yards, and Jones and backup running back Jamaal Williams were second and third on the team in receiving yards.

That is absolutely unacceptable. The Packers organization continues to fail to provide adequate weapons for Rodgers, and signing the inconsistent Devin Funchess is hardly a viable solution.

Green Bay needs a star and a complement to Adams. Brandin Cooks is at his best when he works in a pair, and a wide receiver duo of Cooks and Adams with Rodgers slinging the ball could be legendary.

The Packers have an uncertain number of years left with one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history, and they need to make the most out of it. Acquiring Cooks would put the Packers over the top and make them immediate challengers with the 49ers and New Orleans Saints, who gave their own Hall-of-Fame quarterback Drew Brees a much-needed upgrade in Emmanuel Sanders.

After missing out on Sanders, the Packers need to grab ahold of a wideout who once starred for the Saints. Cooks can be a game-changer for them.
