NFC. 3. 50. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. North. Detroit Lions. player

Look, the Detroit Lions have to win in 2020. Whether they will actually be able to do that or not is a totally different story. If the Lions don’t hover around .500, that will leave the Ford Family no choice but to clean house, firing head coach Matt Patricia and general manager Bob Quinn in the process.

Though they have a quality running back a lot of people like in Kerryon Johnson, when was the last time you could truly trust a Lions running back? That would be back in the Clinton Administration before the Lions inevitably broke Barry Sanders and robbed him of his joy like Detroit football always finds a way to do. So go get you a two-time, 1,000-yard rusher, Lions, and fix this!

Matthew Stafford has brought low-end stability to this franchise, but it’s technically stability. He may never win a division title or a playoff game for that matter, but let’s see what he can do when he has a Pro Bowl-level running back he can occasionally hand the ball of to. If Stafford has a player like this he can trust, he might actually get to the second Pro Bowl of his NFL career.

Overall, there is a need for a player like Fournette in Detroit. He could make this team somewhat respectable in the final two years of his rookie contract. If the Lions don’t get him, then maybe he goes to a division rival like the Bears for all we know. In short, the Lions are in desperate need to be relevant and adding a proven player like Fournette to their backfield would certainly help them.
