4. Mario Addison will notch 12 sacks

The blueprint for Buffalo’s success in 2020 will be to get out to an early lead and then suffocate the opposition with their attacking defense. A big part of that formula will require the Bills’ defensive line to provide a ferocious pass rush.

Bringing in Addison from the Panthers should give McDermott’s defense a much-needed boost. He’s not ideally suited to play all three downs, but he excels when he’s turned loose to rush the passer with a singular focus.

That will position Addison to get a ton of quarterback pressure in 2020. It’s important to note that the 32-year-old edge rusher isn’t just good at getting near the opposing signal caller. He also excels at getting that player on the ground.

The result will be a banner year for the veteran edge rusher. He regularly flirts with breaking into the double-digit sack club, but he’s only broken the barrier once. Addison will defeat his previous career high of 11 sacks by getting to 12 in 2020.
