Round 4

All set at tackle having added Conklin and now Wirfs, the Browns go inside for Rhode Island’s Kyle Murphy in round four.

Murphy is a great athlete who played all over the offensive line during his college career, and that positional versatility should serve him well at the NFL level. He was a standout tester among lineman at the Combine and is very likely to hear his name called somewhere in rounds three or four.

Adding linemen who can operate in space is critical to Kevin Stefanski’s zone scheme, and Murphy fits that mold. The steep jump from FCS-level competition to the NFL will obviously be a difficult adjustment, but Cleveland can afford to be patient with his development and figure out exactly what position it envisions him playing long-term.
