1. Ohio State

The Ohio State Buckeyes come in at No.1 on the list of top home-field advantages in college football. Saturdays in Columbus are unrivaled in the world of college football.

From the O-H-I-O chants that seem to break about every two seconds in the stadium, to a band that is considered as one of the best. The history runs deep in Columbus, and the people of the capital of Ohio love their Buckeyes like nothing else. It is the toughest stadium to play in according to the numbers too as they rank No.1 in the past decade in winning percentage, barely beating out Alabama and Clemson with a record of 67-5.

The history is there too, as the Buckeyes have won eight national championships in their history with their last being the first of the college football playoff era. Because of this success, Ohio State has become a global brand, reaching fans from all over the world. That is a big reason why they sell out every single game in a sea of scarlet and are the most intimidating stadium to play in.

So while others can claim rich traditions, massive fan bases, and the statistics, Ohio State can lay claim to these things. Not only can they just lay claim to them either, but there is also a good argument to be made they are the best in all of them. Of course, every fan is going to believe their team’s traditions are the best, but no one can dispute the fact the Buckeyes have been better than anyone else in college football at home.
