8. Oklahoma

It’s hard to watch an Oklahoma game on TV and not hear the words “Boomer Sooner” be chanted at some point, whether or not the game ends in a win or loss. It’s impossible not to hear those chants if someone decides to visit Norman, Oklahoma for a game themselves. Luckily for the Sooner faithful though, they don’t have to endure many of those losses, especially at home.

Oklahoma has seen a great run in the world of college football under Bob Stoops and now Lincoln Riley. They have seen themselves in the college football playoff for three straight years and fostered two Heisman winners in that span. Add 86,112 fans to the mix and you have one of the places to be on Saturdays in the fall, even despite the fact they aren’t the biggest stadium inside their own conference. Winning is something that can create good atmospheres and Oklahoma certainly has done a lot of it.

Over the past decade, the Sooners have won 84 percent of their games inside of Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium going 58-11 over that span. Not only have they been one of the best teams in college football, but they have also absolutely dominated the Big 12. They have won five-straight Big 12 conference championships, and seven total in the past decade.

There aren’t many schools around the country that can take claim to that type of dominance, the dominance largely stems from it being so difficult to go into Norman and take a game from them.
