Fantasy football 2020 AFC East preview and breakdown
By Bill Pivetz
QB: Ryan Fitzpatrick
RBs: Jordan Howard, Kalen Ballage
WRs: DeVante Parker, Allen Hurns, Albert Wilson
TEs: Mike Gesicki
The Dolphins have had some talented players on offense over the last few years but the quarterback play has been questionable. The team traded for Josh Rosen but went with Fitzpatrick for most of the season. The 15-year veteran threw for 3,529 yards, 20 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. He’s listed as the starter for 2020 and is someone I’m avoiding at all costs.
When Kenyan Drake was traded to Arizona, many thought Ballage would get a full workload. That bubble popped when the team signed Howard. With the Eagles, Howard rushed for 525 yards and six touchdowns on 119 carries. Ballage had just 74 carries for 135 yards and three scores. This is a running back situation I want no part of.
Parker finally had the breakout season we’ve been hoping for since he was drafted. He caught 72 passes for 1,202 yards and nine touchdowns. No other Dolphins receiver was even close to putting up those numbers. Parker is the only receiver from this team I’d draft.
Gesicki was the second-best pass catcher with 51 receptions, 570 yards and five touchdowns. More consistency from the quarterback should lead to better numbers for the tight end. With the running backs not being the best pass catchers and no other receiver stepping up, Gesicki will be the No. 2 in line for targets. He’s my breakout player from the Dolphins.
