The quarterfinals of ESPN’s NBA2K Players Tournament are Thursday, Apr. 9. Here’s everything you need to know to watch online.

Right now, we can’t actually play basketball with our friends. But we can certainly play digital basketball with them! NBA players (they’re just like us!) are competing in ESPN’s NBA2K Players Tournament and the quarterfinals roll on Thursday, starting at 7 p.m.

The first round, played last weekend, had plenty of fun basketball action, even if the conversation was a little stale. In terms of the matchups, we saw plenty of Lakers and Bucks and more than a few surprises. Kevin Durant, top seed in the entire tournament, was eliminated by Derrick Jones Jr. in the first game. Hassan Whiteside (No. 3), Zach LaVine (No. 7) and Donovan Mitchell (No. 4) also fell victim to upsets.

NBA2K Players Tournament quarterfinals:

  • Rui Hachimura vs. Devin Booker, 7 p.m.
  • Derrick Jones Jr. vs. Montrezl Harrell, 8 p.m.
  • Trae Young vs. Deandre Ayton, 9 p.m.
  • Patrick Beverley vs. Andre Drummond, 10 p.m.

The winners of Thursdays games will advance to the semifinals and finals, which will be played back-to-back on Saturday, Apr. 11. The winner of the tournament will receive $100,000 to donate to a charity of their choice for coronavirus relief efforts.

It’s definitely not the same thing as actual games but we get dunks, blocks, 3-pointers, no-look assists and plenty of trash talk (at least when Patrick Beverley is playing). Until the NBA gets their virtual horse tournament up and running, this is the best thing going.

Here’s what you need to know to watch as the tournament rolls on.
