Gonzaga basketball has become a top college program over the past two decades and these are the five players who crack the Bulldogs’ all-time starting lineup.

The name Gonzaga has become synonymous with college basketball excellence for the past two decades. Ever since the Bulldogs made their miraculous run to the Elite Eight in 1999, Gonzaga has been an NCAA Tournament staple, even reaching the national championship game in 2017.

Paring down the list of Bulldogs’ greats to come up with an all-time starting five isn’t as easy as one would think since there have been plenty of great players at Gonzaga over the years. Jim McPhee, Elias Harris, Blake Stepp and Matt Santangelo are among the many players who missed the cut for this lineup.

5. G Kevin Pangos (2011-2015)

This is the most recent addition to Gonzaga’s all-time lineup, but Kevin Pangos is more than deserving of a starting spot in the backcourt. Pangos made an immediate impact when he arrived at Gonzaga, winning the West Coast Conference’s Newcomer of the Year Award and making the first of four appearances on the All-WCC First Team.

The Bulldogs also saw Pangos leave his mark in the record books, breaking Stepp’s record for the most three-pointers in program history. Pangos just missed out on making Gonzaga’s first trip to the Final Four when the Bulldogs fell in the Elite Eight to Duke in his senior season.
