13. Pick Analysis. West. Scouting Report. AFC. Los Angeles Chargers. 4. player

The Los Angeles Chargers play many of the same teams as the Miami Dolphins do next year. Both teams play a last-place schedule in the AFC and their two divisions will face each other. Fate would have it the Chargers need to go from five wins to 10 wins to double their win total from a season ago. It’s a tad easier than the Dolphins because the Chargers have the overall better roster.

In divisional play, the best the Chargers can hope for is win all their “home” games and sweep the Las Vegas Raiders. They’re not winning at Arrowhead or Mile High this year. 4-2 would be a respectable mark in a competitive AFC West, as no team is going 6-0 in that division, not even the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs.

So are there six other wins left on the schedule for the Chargers to have? As with the Dolphins, they’d need to beat the Cincinnati Bengals and the Jacksonville Jaguars in their fourth-place schedule games. That gets the Chargers to six wins and needing four more over the AFC East teams and the NFC South teams. How many wins are realistically available for the Bolts here?

The Atlanta Falcons and the Carolina Panthers will head to Los Angeles. Those are winnable. The New York Jets at Inglewood feels like a win. Who’s to say the Bolts can’t beat the New England Patriots at SoFi Stadium either? The only games of these eight the Chargers aren’t likely to win are at the Buffalo Bills and at the New Orleans Saints. The Bolts have more room for error than Miami.
