Jordan Love will be on the radar of a lot of NFL teams, but these five look like the best fits for the Utah State product.

Jordan Love put himself on the NFL radar in 2018, when he threw for over 3,500 yards with 32 touchdowns and just six interceptions. If he could have declared for the draft, he could have and probably been drafted early.

But Love had to return for his junior season. Utah State had a coaching change, as Matt Wells left for Texas Tech and Gary Andersen came back to the program he built. Four of five starting offensive lineman graduated, leading rusher Darwin Thompson and top tight end Dax Raymond left early for the NFL and three top wide receivers were seniors in 2018.

Love, perhaps pressing a bit behind a poor offensive line and with a lower level of talent around him, had a drop-off last year. A 32:6 touchdown-to-interception rate became 20 and 17, as all his numbers fell.

Still Love is an intriguing prospect, with size, arm strength and mobility that draws unfair and lazy comparisons to Patrick Mahomes. In the right situation, the upside is immense without whatever level of durability concern teams have regarding Tua Tagovailoa.

A lot of teams may have Love on their radar, with varying degrees of likelihood they can get him based purely on draft position and whether he falls a bit or not.

These five teams are the best draft fits for Jordan Love.

5. Miami Dolphins

With three first-round picks (No. 5, No. 18 and No. 26), and two more picks in the top-60,  the Dolphins are to follow a spending run in free agency with the addition of a group of young players. A quarterback of the future is easily on the radar.

The Dolphins and Tagovailoa has felt like an inevitable marriage. But recent pre-draft smokescreens have suggested they may be targeting Justin Herbert, and they may be among the teams worried about Tagovailoa’s injury history.

Just before the typical pre-draft process was shut down, as the coronavirus situation started to escalate, the Dolphins had Love in for a visit. That can be chalked up to simple due diligence, but is interesting.

Miami has brought back Ryan Fitzpatrick to be the bridge to whatever young signal caller they draft. Love may not be the No. 1 quarterback on their draft board, but if things break a certain way they will be in position to take him.
