2. Parris Campbell will lead the Colts in catches

T.Y. Hilton is the best wide receiver on this roster by a pretty fair margin. There’s also a strong chance that he will miss a significant chunk of the season due to injury. That leaves the Colts without a clear-cut No. 1 wide receiver.

Zach Paschal seems like the next guy in line, but he’s horribly miscast as the top wide receiver on any NFL depth chart. Instead, look for second-year pro Parris Campbell to take a big leap in his sophomore season.

Campbell only played in seven games last season but he showed some promise in that limited action. Eighteen catches for 127 yards isn’t anything to write home about, but he has the physical tools to catch a lot of balls in this offense.

More importantly, someone has to step up and shoulder the load for the receiving corps. The franchise wants it to be Hilton, but relying on him is more of a wish than a plan. Campbell represents the best option out of a very mediocre group.
