NFL mock draft with every college football player eligible: Do Bengals take Joe Burrow or Trevor Lawrence?
The Dallas Cowboys could look to replace Travis Frederick in the middle of the offensive line after he retired with either Cesar Ruiz out of Michigan or Creed Humphrey, the Oklahoma center who returned to Norman. But the positional value just isn’t there to take a center in the middle of the first round. Instead, the Cowboys take former No. 1 overall recruit Kayvon Thibodeaux who is entering his sophomore season this fall.
Thibodeaux got better every game as a freshman last year and looked like one of the best players in the nation at the end of the year. When he is finally eligible in two years, you can bank on Thibodeaux being selected in the first handful of picks. With Robert Quinn departing in free agency and the Cowboys unable to bank too much on Aldon Smith and Randy Gregory, taking Thibodeaux gives the Cowboys a dependable and likely All-Pro.
This is a perfect pick for the Dolphins who reunite Henry Ruggs III with his college quarterback, Tua, who they took with the No. 5 pick. Ruggs is a burner who ran a 4.27 40 at the combine and he was actually disappointed he didn’t run faster.
Ruggs is more than just a burner though. He can run all the routes and make contested catches. He’s tough and has the alpha mentality where other receivers in the room elevate their play because of him. Tua and Ruggs on South Beach should be good for a dozen touchdowns every year.
